Chassis # 1/52 300SL prototype. This is a recreation of the car that started it all for Mercedes Benz racing department in 1952. This car built as the original from mostly off the shelf 300S W188 and 220 W187 parts is a nut and bolt copy of the first of 11 cars built for the Le Mans races in 1952. The only car with a wet sump chassis #1 is using a Genuine M188 block with the correct M194 cylinder head and triple cooling outlets. Also intstalled are the correct PBIC40 carbs with a M188 camshaft. Body Buck is built using original factory drawings and laid out on  MDF plywood. Aluminum body work will be fitted as well as the famous half doors just like the original. This also is the only W194 that came with 4 1/2 inch bolt on wheels as opposed to the Rudge found on the other 10 cars.
